IRF Staff Participates in Rhino Week at Zoos in Massachusetts
IRF Program Officer Bill Konstant recently visited two zoos in Massachusetts, Southwick’s Zoo in the town of Mendon and the Franklin Park Zoo in Boston, both of which held special events to raise funds for rhino conservation. Bill gave two presentations as part of Southwick’s Zoo’s Rhino Week, which included a poster contest, special encounters with the two resident white rhinos, Thelma and Louis, and an evening Winos for Rhinos event. At Franklin Park, Bill spoke to members of the local American Association of Zoo Keepers (AAZK) chapter, which helps support Rhino Protection Units in Indonesia through its annual Bowling for Rhinos event. During his visit, zoo staff held a special “Lawn Bowling for Rhinos” for visitors, who also contribute to rhino conservation each time one experiences the Zoo’s Rhino Rescue 6D Adventure.

Animal lovers..Please join and share the Global March for Elephants & Rhinos in Boston on Oct 4th to call for an end to the killing and a ban on ivory and rhino horn before it’s too late. https://www.facebook.com/events/475275542616894/
