Superstitious Rhino poachers in Southern Africa

Superstitious Rhino poachers in southern Africa rely on muti, potions or fetishes they believe protect them from being caught or killed. They believe that muti can make them invisible or bullet-proof, or increase their chances of killing a rhino. Certain rhino body parts – such as the eyes, ears and tail – may be taken for these purposes, but other species – such as ground hornbills and vultures – are also killed to prepare muti for a hunt.
