IRF Staff attends the Mohamed bin Zayed Species Conservation Fund Meeting in Abu Dhabi
Advisors to the Mohamed bin Zayed Species Conservation Fund met recently in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, to review proposals for wildlife conservation projects around the world. Among them were several rhino conservation projects in Africa and Asia. Since 2009, IRF has received support for efforts to save critically endangered black rhinos in Zimbabwe’s Lowveld region, to employ Sumatran Rhino Protection Units (RPUs) in Indonesia’s Bukit Barisan Selatan and Way Kambas National Parks, and to increase habitat for Javan rhinos in Ujung Kulon National Park. The results of the recent grant review process will be released by the end of the year.
