A Postage Stamp from the West African Nation of Liberia
A postage stamp from the West African nation of Liberia depicts a black rhinoceros, but biologists remain uncertain as to whether the species ever occurred in that country. The only evidence suggesting it did is that, many years ago, members of the Mandingo tribe recognized a photograph of a two-horned rhinoceros, which they referred to as “Kowura”.
