This week is our annual 5/5 celebration of the 5 species of rhinos! We’re Keeping the Five Alive on 5/5 with presenting sponsor Blue Rhino to help raise awareness for rhinos around the world.
Rhinos continue to face extinction due to poaching, human encroachment, habitat degradation and climate change. Rhinos, present on Earth for over 50 million years, now face extinction within decades. Humans are the root of the problem, but we can also be part of the solution. The International Rhino Foundation, in partnership with Blue Rhino, is committed to saving all five rhino species. Today through May 7 Blue Rhino will match every donation, dollar for dollar up to $30,000!
Join us in raising funds for rhino conservation on May 5th. Your support on 5/5 and throughout the year helps us make a difference for rhinos and the people who dedicate their lives to protecting them.
First time mother Delilah is celebrating more than just Mother's Day on May 12 - it's also her birthday!
Delilah was the second rhino born at the SRS and the second offspring of Ratu and Andalas. On November 25, 2023, Delilah made history again when she gave birth to a healthy male calf, Indra. Delilah is now the SRS’s third breeding female and the first captive-born Sumatran rhino female to produce offspring. She’s taking great care of Indra, who has already grown to 196 kg or 432 lbs!
